First I must say, I am not a very political person, especially this time around. Most of me wants to just sit back, pray and not get too involved. Division, anger and conflict stir within talk of our current election like never before. We have candidates unlike any before. Being a proud American, it can be disheartening. The onslaught of fb posts, videos, news updates and media clips proving we live in troubling times.
I also look back and realize how much we as a nation have told God he doesn’t belong here. From uprooting Historic landmarks to teachers getting fired for praying. It is clear Christian persecution is on the rise.
In the midst of it all, I hear fear not.
Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” -Isaiah 41:10
The Game Changer
Let me remind you, our hope does not lie in the next president. What our country needs is Jesus. Only he can turn things around. He alone can change hearts. He brings that security, future and provision we seek. That’s not to say to sit back and not vote, but when voting, know who is in control. Keep your soul at peace. This week we will have a new president in office, but our God is still ruler of all. He alone sits on the throne.
Let us be carriers of peace, for we have a great responsibility to be the light where ever he has placed us. There are so many hurting people that need to know of the hope we hold. The security that doesn’t hinge on “who wins”. He holds the world and your future in His hands. I vote Jesus. Every time.
