Merry Christmas! Shop till you drop! I often notice shopping as the focus of Christmas. Everywhere I turn, every commercial, every store telling us “buy more, it’s what you need.” We’ve been good “santa” now give us what we want. All the hustle & bustle keeps us busy. It is the season of busy. While we are running around pressured to shop those perfect gifts, to decorate in a way Southern Living would be proud to regram and to attend party after party, let us not lose sight. The perfect gift has already come.
Rejoice! For a child has been born for us, the gift of a Savior for us!” -Isaiah 9:6
I know we see everywhere that Jesus is the Reason for the Season or Happy Birthday Jesus. These are great little quotes and make for a fun craft night. Lord knows, I love to craft. Especially, calligraphy chalk painting zingers on a reclaimed slab of wood. But I’m challenged to really let the meaning of Christmas sink in. To reflect and thank my best friend born in a manger for all he is.
We are who we are today because of this perfect gift that gives more to us every moment of every day, then we could in a lifetime. That baby not only stepped into our world to save us then but steps into our moments to save us now.
He’s my Prince of Peace.
My Wonderful Counselor.
Our Faithful Friend.
He’s my Beautiful Reason.
Let us Come and Adore Him
Bring Jesus into your family this Christmas. Perhaps, go around the room sharing of blessings this year or His faithfulness in your stormy season. You could sing hymns as a family honoring the reason we gather. In some way, before unwrapping the temporary, let us come and adore our eternal gift.
May your holiday be filled with His love, peace and memories to cherish.
Oh, and Happy Birthday Jesus!

Loved this post! Hoping to continue and start new traditions with the family. Maybe like you said gather around and sing hymns as a family. My family mainly speaks spanish so it will be interesting finding spanish Christmas hymns, but I would LOVE that <3
