Did you know that, when you’re birthing something spiritually, it is just as spiritually draining as physically giving birth is to your body? True story. Today I want to share some encouragement for those who are in a spiritual labor season.
When you know that you are carrying significant promises, a specific calling and assignments from the Lord you will be tested. Now we as believers should always be in a season of growth and fruitfulness. but birthing is different.
Enduring Labor Season
There are times in our lives, when God prepares us to birth something so significant, beyond great and it’s not just for us. It’s much greater than us, it’s for a generation, it’s to impact those all around us.
Like any pregnancy, you start out excited and anticipating the great purpose that God has placed inside of you. We tend to think it will happen in a short time. But as a woman in her 6th month of pregnancy, you start to feel what’s it’s really like to carry a child. You are uncomfortable, irritated, there are sleepless nights and more.
In a spiritual labor season, you might have to wait several years. For me personally, I wrote about my own current labor season back in 2017. You might have to endure a transformative process that you don’t understand. You will get to a point where you become weary and want to give up. To make it even more intense, you’ll have people leave you, slander you and turn on you because they stop believing. They doubt that God would do such a thing in your life. The enemy will also bombard you with lies, in an attempt to get you to doubt and abort what God is preparing.
This short encouragement is for those wanting to give up:
Trust God
Don’t Give Up! God knows your pain and disappointment. He wants you to give every burden to him. He wants you to trust him no matter how it looks. The Lord will give you the supernatural strength and grace you need everyday to endure the birthing. He wants to display his wonders in and through you!
It will be like a woman suffering the pains of labor. When her child is born, her anguish gives way to joy because she has brought a new baby into the world. So you have sorrow now, but I will see you again; then you will rejoice, and no one can rob you of that joy.” –John 16: 20-24
Friend, your baby is coming.
I have a prayer for you to pray for perseverance in your birthing season.
If you’re tired and have no idea how you will get through this birthing process, pray this simple prayer with me today:
“Dear Heavenly Father, I come to You in Jesus’ name. Father God, thank You for taking care of me. Thank You for these new things You are birthing in this season. I’m tired, Father, but that’s okay because I know You will help me. Your Word says that I can come to You when I’m weary and heavy laden, and You will give me rest. So Jesus, I come to You now. Please give me rest. Take my yoke and my burdens; I give them to You. I cast them upon You, Lord! And Father God, I ask in Jesus’ name that You would please keep me safe through this birthing process. Please protect me and the baby You are birthing. Please literally do this work through me, Father, and birth everything You desire for me to have and experience during this season. Please give us more grace, Father. Give me more grace. Help me to persevere through this birthing season, Father, and strengthen me for Your work. I come against every lie from the enemy and I forgive those who have come against me. Every spirit of fear, doubt, confusion is gone and every tormenting spirit must go in Jesus name. Thank You, Heavenly Father for your perseverance and the grace to not give up. Amen.
Don’t Give Up, Leah
