Human trafficking isn’t just a 3rd world problem, in fact the US is the #1 trafficking country in the world. Tune in to this eye opening conversation, Sold into Slavery, with Beverly + Jonathan, Founders of Cry Freedom Missions. As the largest organization in the state, their mission is to end sex trafficking through rescuing and restoring the lives of survivors.
Truth of the Matter
So many of us believe as depicted in the movie, Taken, that human trafficking is when a white van pulls up and kidnaps someone. But the mind blowing truth is that kidnapping is only 10% of the cases. What! Yes, only 10%. The horrifying truth is that 85%+ of cases are due to a family member or friend selling them into slavery. The majority of victims are sold into slavery by someone they love or trust.
Open Doors
Why is the US now the #1 trafficking country in the world? It has been on the rise with the pandemic, open borders and kids having easy access to technology. Friends, the devil is after our children and technology is the gateway.
I personally know of under age children that were exposed to predators and vulnerable to being sex trafficked through social media and gaming apps. Even innocent games played online such as Minecraft and Words with Friends are open doors for pedophilia. Parents need to be aware and monitor internet usage before it’s too late.
Apps to Protect
Check out these apps to protect and monitor your children. These apps are recommended by Cry Freedom Missions and many parents I know.
Help End Trafficking
