Last week, I was asked to go out of town and teach a Bible study on spiritual warfare. Afterwards, I had a great conversation with a group of guys. We stayed up late having a deep conversation on faith and how to trust God. One of them turns and asks me, “Leah, how is it possible for you to say Yes to God no matter what?”
My answer is, because I know he is GOOD.
You see friends, the reason so many believers struggle with saying yes to God is because they don’t know him like that.
I talk about this in depth in my book, Lens of Faith. If you don’t know God intimately then you won’t trust him.
Would you trust a stranger with the keys to your house? Somebody else can tell you how great that person is but unless you know them for yourself, you won’t fully trust that person.
It’s the same with God. When you know him, you can trust him. You look back on his perfect track record. You remind yourself of the truth. He is a good father, he has never abandoned you, he never fails. He’s got your back. He loves you. His ways are better than yours. His timing is perfect. People disappoint but he never has and never will.
You know that everything the Bible says is true because you have experienced his goodness in your own life. It’s no longer just a historic Bible story of what God did back then. You confidently believe that he truly is the same yesterday, today and forever.
When you live like this than you can say Yes to God in every situation. You desire to partner with him because why wouldn’t you? There is greater peace, favor and purpose when you do.

However, you won’t be exempt from spiritual attacks and warfare. There is nothing the devil hates more than a Christian who walks in their God given authority. He will bombard you with lies but you are not defeated, you are more than a conqueror in Christ. Defend your faith with the truth of what your Father God says. Sharpen your swords with the word.
How to Know Him
“Taste and see that the Lord is good.” Psalm 34
I encourage you friends to spend time with the Lord, go deep. Allow him to heal and set you free from the past. Give him your whole heart. Press in. Desire an intimate relationship with him. Know him then you will trust him and say Yes to your greater destiny and purpose.
Let’s Pray
Lord, I repent for going my own way and not trusting you. Give me a greater hunger to know you. I give you my heart, my disappointments and everything that is holding me back. Do what you need to do in me. Thank you for your forgiveness and unconditional love. Amen.”
Stay Encouraged, Leah
Because He is good. Amen
