Many churches and Christians treat this gift as taboo, irrelevant or avoid teaching on the importance of making this part of your daily faith walk. But the Benefits of Speaking in Tongues are evident and we have proof.

It’s only been in the past few years that I truly understand how important this tool is and now I can’t imagine not praying in the spirit. The enemy does not understand what you are saying and you won’t either. The Bible tells us that “we are praying his mysteries.” The enemy knows the benefits of speaking in tongues so he has tried to keep Christians from utilizing this valuable tool. The devil doesn’t waste his time on things that don’t hurt his kingdom.

A few of the benefits include: strengthening your inner man, peace, mental clarity, walking in your authority, demons scatter, miracles, signs and wonders take place. Breakthrough happens. When you pray in your heavenly language, it is God interceding for you, you are praying the Lord’s perfect will for your life.

I received the gift when I was 12 years old, but only in the past few tears have I understood the value of making it part of my daily life. Maybe you’ve already received this wonderful gift but have not been practicing.

Friend, my heart is to encourage you to start praying in tongues again. May these fresh revelations ignite your faith and breathe hope into every season you find yourself in. And if you’ve never prayed in tongues, I want to show you from Scripture how this gift applies to you and the powerful benefits of this practical grace gift.

Prayer to receive the gift:

Jesus Himself said, “And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will . . . speak with new tongues” (Mark 16:17). Do you believe in Jesus? Then you can be sure you will receive this gift when you ask in His name, for He also said:

If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!” -Luke 11:13

Beloved, the Father, who’s always ready to give good gifts to you, is more than ready to fill you with His Spirit and give you this heavenly language right now.

Are you ready? Lift up your hands to Him and say this with me:

Heavenly Father, I am confident that You will give me the baptism in the Holy Spirit with the ability to speak in tongues. Inundate me, fill me, and baptize me with the Holy Spirit. Jesus has paid the price for me to receive every blessing from You. So I receive right now Your Holy Spirit till overflowing and I fully expect to start speaking in my new heavenly language in Jesus’ name. I will open my mouth and speak by faith right now. Thank You for all the benefits that praying in the Spirit will release in my life. In Jesus’ name, amen!

All right, now release your heavenly language by faith. Go ahead and speak in tongues. Begin by speaking the syllables that come to you. For when you open your mouth, you give voice to the Holy Spirit who helps you by making intercession for you. (Rom. 8:26).

Don’t be disheartened if it differs from the tongues of other believers or sounds monosyllabic at first. Just keep at it by spending time praying in tongues daily. As you continue to do so, you will become more fluent in this new language. You will start enjoying it more and more, and see the healing breakthroughs you’ve been believing for!

My friend, I pray you will experience a deeper walk with the Lord. And see the miraculous manifesting in your life as you release His power through this wonderful gift of tongues.
