HANDS & FEET

September 5, 2018 · 10 Comments

Hands & Feet: This past Monday which was Labor Day, I was traveling back to Raleigh after two weeks in California. I was exhausted from such a busy trip and wasn’t feeling social at all. Which is always proof that God will use us even in our weakness if we are willing.

As I approached the airline counter, they suddenly inform me that there would be a three-hour delay. As I stood there frustrated, I felt to call up an acquaintance to grab lunch, during that time I was able to minister and pray for her regarding her missing brother. After the delay, the woman sitting next to me on the plane, within minutes starts pouring out her heart.

She then gets louder telling me she’s going through an ugly divorce. Then when I land in Colorado and go to eat, I ask the waitress how she’s doing. She instantly starts telling me she had a horrible day and fight with her boyfriend then she starts crying. I then prayed for her.

The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,to proclaim freedom for the captives, to release from darkness the prisoners and to comfort all who mourn.” –Isaiah 61

Reach Out

After the waitress, I sat there in silence as God reminded me that there are so many hurting people in this world and we are His hands and feet. We are meant to be sensitive to our surroundings for there are no coincidences and the delay was no accident.

Because of that delay, I was able to be at the right place at the right time. At the end of the day, realizing wow God you once again set this up. Oh, how much you love the ONE. You would have died for the ONE. You would move heaven and earth for the ONE.

As I’m typing this a new email notification pops up on my phone. The airline is giving me a $100 voucher for the delay. This past Labor Day I had a specific assignment that included laboring for the kingdom on Labor Day.

Let’s pray

“Lord, make me more sensitive to my surroundings and to the one you put in my path. Remove from me a self-focused mindset so that I may live out your greater purpose. Give me a heart for the broken and eyes for the hurting. I pray for divine assignments to reach out to those in need. May I be your hands and feet. Amen.”
