GET UNSTUCK

May 30, 2018 · 1 Comment

The fact is that we as humans are so different than God. I for one, live in a constant state of gratitude that He is perfect in all of His ways. Where would we be if we had a God-like us One of the most amazing ways that God is not like us, is that he forgives and forgets. He doesn’t dwell on the past or judge us for what we have done. Instead, He sees us as clean by His grace.

In our own nature when someone hurts or abandons us, we tend to reject them and keep score. Yet, God is constantly beckoning us to keep a shortlist and move forward. It goes against every natural reaction we have. It is possible but the only way to live like Jesus is to spend time becoming like Him.

No turning back

The enemy will do whatever it takes to keep us stuck by constantly reminding us of the past and wrongs done. By looking in the rearview mirror instead of the window right in front, you’re liable to crash. We must take authority in Christ to become the beautiful, free, and restored person God desires.

Forget about whats happened; don’t keep going over old history. Be alert, be present. I’m about to do something brand-new. It’s bursting out! Don’t you see it” -Isaiah 43:18

Get Unstuck

It is only when we are filled with His love and perspective that we are able to genuinely forgive, move forward quickly and love our enemies. That’s what sets us apart at followers of Jesus.

Let me give you a new command: Love one another. In the same way I loved you, you love one another. This is how everyone will recognize that you are my discipleswhen they see the love you have for each other. – John 13:35

Let’s pray

“Lord, thank you for your forgiveness one that we do not deserve. Help me to love others the way you love me and to release all offense. I allow you to heal every crevasse of my heart. I choose to look forward on the new thing you are doing in my life. Give me your perspective and help me to forget yesterdays disappointments. Amen.”
