One of the most comforting facts of life is that God never lies. In fact, it is impossible for Him to lie. Hebrews 6:18 Just let that sink in for a moment. It is impossible for God to lie. What comfort!
In a world where we face disappointments, dishonest people and unreliable circumstances, we can rest assured in His proven and unfailingly promises. Our great king, an intimate friend, and a promise keeper.
Along with the unchanging word of God full of guarantees, he also gives us specific promises for our individual lives. As I’ve shared before I have over 50 specific promises regarding my future. Some have come to pass and some are yet to be seen.
Hard Place
I remember so clearly a few years ago when I was in a really hard place and wanting to give up on what looked impossible. I asked God as I was reading His good book, “Just give me one word of encouragement.” He clearly spoke, “Numbers 23:19”. It had to be God because I wouldn’t naturally go to Numbers to find encouragement. ha but wow what a word!
God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change His mind. Does he speak and then not act Does he promise and not fulfill” –Numbers 23:19
For when people, situations or even the enemy tries to overwhelm us, we need to be guarded with the truth. Stay planted by memorizing His promises.
He will never leave us or forsake us. Deut. 31:8
He is the same yesterday, today & forever. Hebrews 13:8
He will fight for us. He defends us. Exodus 14:14
He gives us strength when we are weary. Isaiah 40:29
His love for us will never change. Isaiah 54:10
He forgives us all our sins when we confess. 1 John 1:9
He gives us perfect peace. Isaiah 26:3
Let’s Pray:
“Thank you Lord for your promises. You are the only constant, unfailing one. Help me keep my mind focused on who you are. For there is none like you. Amen.”
