Welcome to Lens of Faith // Here I am with my first official post…eek! So nervous yet excited.
When God made it clear to me a couple of months ago to start blogging, I was like um I don’t think so. I don’t blog, just look at my own business, I lack consistency. I don’t even read other blogs, who would read mine? God said, “Do it. I’m going to speak through you. Share what I’m doing in your heart and in your obedience walking the road less traveled. I will give you what to say. This year marks the beginning of your ministry.” Even now as I type, I feel the Holy Spirit touching me, confirming what He said.
Few people really know how difficult my life has been these last few years. Holding on to God’s strategic plan for me when stripped of everything comfortable in my life is almost unbearable. It’s one thing to hold on to hope and desire but holding on when you have no desire, takes supernatural grace and trust. I don’t understand all His ways but I do trust His unfailing character. I am very touched by a friends text msg to me recently:
Encouraging Friend
“Hi, friend! I read Ephesians 3:20-21 today and thought of you “Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His great power that is at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever! Amen.
Thank you for your faithfulness and faith in God. You don’t even know how much it’s encouraged and spurred me on in the last few years. I’m convinced God is using your obedience and trust to do more than anyone can ask or imagine. Also, I listened to a sermon recently and it talked about how a pearl is made from an irritating grain of sand, and I thought about you. Love you!”
I’m convinced God is using your obedience and trust to do more than anyone can ask or imagine.” – a dear friend
Faithful Jesus
I would not be able to endure, grow and thrive in this long valley if it weren’t for my faith in Jesus and Him bringing these exact encouragers into my life. People love to put a period where God puts a comma. Surround yourself with faithful, life-giving believers.
If you are holding on, waiting on God to come through and you feel discouraged…DON’T GIVE UP. No time is wasted. Don’t allow your heart to harden. Press in and discover that in His presence is fullness of joy. Psalm 16:11
Allow Him to mold and shape you into His likeness. Ask Him to show you anything in you that needs to be uprooted. It will be painful and uncomfortable like pruning is expected to be. However, what comes forth is a beautiful tree with much fruit and your life will never be the same.
October has always been my favorite month of the year. This barn photo was taken while driving cross country from NC-CA. I put together a barn series taken of my favorite barns across our great America and designed a coffee book, such a fun project.
Let’s walk through this journey together. I’d love to hear from you. Please leave a comment on my post letting me know your thoughts and sign up for updates on new posts and other exciting news.

I love yo so much Leah. There is a saying: You’ll need a bigger stomach if you’re going to be back in the kitchen seeing how the sausage is made. My interpretation: When we face painful, unexpected adversity we have to go deep to find our strength. You have and I am very proud of you and your “fruit”. Yours is not the low hanging fruit, fruit much easier to obtain from the easiest of tasks. Your “fruit” requires more effort to obtain and ultimately more rewarding. Big hugs!
