Tune in today on this week’s podcast + blog as my bro-in-law shares his prodigal journey. There is nothing like a redemption story am I right. I have been greatly impacted by being in the fam. I remember Israel being super committed to his church + ministry as a worship leader with his wife, my sister Esther. Everything seemed great on the outside looking in.
Turning Point
What I saw as the turning point for him is when his wife lost their first child due to a miscarriage. I remember him taking it the hardest. When she was unable to become pregnant again, shortly after he stepped off the stage, left the church and turned from God. It’s been over 7 years since that day.
As he shares his testimony for the first time in the launch episode which is live now, there is more than meets the eye. Everything is supposed to go my way because I serve God, right? So he thought. He carried bitterness towards ministry, circumstances, and God.
This rebellion started him on a course filled with hate, sin and distance towards God. But God in His unconditional love and grace is always chasing the solo lost sheep. He will leave the 99 for the one.
Idols
His idol was having a child. He questioned God, “Why can everyone else get pregnant but us? But God clearly told him, “Until you turn to me and give me your heart completely, you will not have a child.” This fired up his rebellion even more.
Even during that time when he wanted nothing to do with God. God still blessed him. We don’t deserve a love like this. A love so unbelievably kind, patient and long-suffering. Even when we are not faithful. He is faithful.
Your kindness of Lord, leads us to repentance.” -Romans 2:4

I love my husband and the sensitivity that he has with God. #greatpodcast what a start to what God has in store for all of us.
This podcast was an amazing outlook on our process and the relationship that God wants with us. Our little part goes a long way when God has a plan.
