Happy Thanksgiving friends! I hope your day is full of good food, fun family memories and reflection on how blessed we all are. Thanksgiving should be a heart posture not a once a year event. I have talked about this many times in past posts but really it’s so important and the key to happiness.
When you wake up each morning and thank God simply for who He is, your whole attitude changes. No matter what you might be facing, no matter how you may be feeling, choose to voice thanks. It also silences the enemy and cancels accusations. It gives you right perspective.
Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise; give thanks to Him and praise His name.” -Psalms 100:4
Thankfulness must become a habit. Just like complaining is a habit. But the more you make it your routine the more it becomes second nature.
Thank God throughout the day and even when “little” blessings that may seem small come your way, immediately give thanks. Having a heart of gratitude pleases Him and will keep His hand open. For God is after our heart, He seeks the glory and when you share of His goodness, He gets the honor He deserves.
Speak Of It
To start out, you can begin by thanking Him for His faithfulness. Thank you Lord for your protection, provision, kindness, your mercies are new every morning. My salvation, living in the land of the free, I thank you Lord.
Today I thank Him for time with my family here in California. As we spend the holidays together, I never take it for granted. Even in the craziness, I see His goodness. Even in the noise, I sense His peace. Thank you Jesus.
Take a moment of quiet today and reflect on this year and for who He is in your life and give Him thanks.
