One of the most life-changing revelations that God has ever stamped on my heart was this message. Tune in to The One • the podcast for powerful encounters that reveal the heart of God.
We live in a world that is constantly urging us to get more followers or that numbers equal success, well God tells us differently. Reaching the masses can be great but often when we are focused on the count, we miss the one.
Like Jesus
When Jesus walked the earth, He knew that His time here was short. He knew that He would have the greatest purpose anyone ever would. He alone would save the entire world, forevermore by giving up His life on that cross. But even though He knew how great His purpose was, He still constantly stopped for the one broken, lost and sick soul.
Suppose one of you had a hundred sheep and lost one. Wouldn’t you leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness and go after the lost one until you found it? When found, you can be sure you would put it across your shoulders, rejoicing, and when you got home call in your friends and neighbors, saying, ‘Celebrate with me! I’ve found my lost sheep!’ Count on it—there’s more joy in heaven over one sinner’s rescued life than over ninety-nine good people in no need of rescue.” -Luke 15:4
He would travel to a different town just to heal one sick girl. He would go out of His way just to give a word of encouragement to a single man. No one was too small or insignificant to Jesus.
Hands + Feet
We are proof of God to an unbelieving world. It is through us, God’s people that He meets the needs of the lost and hurting.

Upon reading this, the story of the prodigal son came to mind when the son left his father not only to experience the unknown pleasures that was out there some where, but searching to find his identity, his purpose in life. Fast-forward, when his son was ready and willing to come back to the father and the father seeing his son in the distance, ran to his son with open arms embracing, kissing him and a lot more at his return. The mercy of our Heavenly Father expressed through His loving kindness, His forgiveness gives us hope both now and forever.
