Is it really already November? Time sure does fly. This week marks Lens of Faith’s two year anniversary and I’m amazed at God’s faithfulness. He continues every week in giving me a fresh word for His beloved.
With another year approaching, I’m reminded of how much time has passed waiting on God in areas of my life. If I don’t stay focused on Him and His goodness and keep my thoughts right, then weariness can settle. Hebrews which is my favorite book of the bible, focuses mostly on faith. Chapter 12 verse 3 tells us to not grow weary and lose heart.
You see, we don’t just wake up weary and it doesn’t happen in a short time. The water that brings that growth usually is the long wait, disappointments and focusing on what we think is missing. Yet our sweet Jesus loves us so deeply, that he endured torment and death in order that we would not give up or lose hope. Let that sink in.
Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith. For the joy set before Him he endured the cross, scorning its shame.
Consider Him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.” –Hebrews 12:2-3
Oh what love. It’s only by being rooted in Christ that we can endure hardship. We must keep our eyes focused on Him in order to run the race set before us with perseverance and joy. Being entangled in a life of technology addiction, comparison and building our own kingdom is a sure way to grow weary quickly.
I’ve read in so many different parts of the bible where Jesus urges us to “Be strong. Don’t give up. Don’t lose heart.” He knows this life can drag you down. He also knows that He is the answer.
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Galatians 6:9
Let’s Pray
“Lord, thank you that you gave it all in order that I would not lose hope. Give me your supernatural perspective and joy. Satisfy every longing in my heart with your presence. Amen.”
