THE ONE

April 12, 2017 · 2 Comments

God has such a beautiful and powerful way he teaches us valuable lessons. Recently, I lived with a very challenging, unsaved young woman. Although she was instantly drawn to me, it was very emotionally draining daily. One afternoon out of frustration, I sat down and asked God, “Why did you move me to this side of town, in this place, with this girl! What’s the purpose of this I know you have better. Why am I here?”

Truth Bomb

The Holy Spirit instantly spoke so loud and clear, “I brought you here for her! Don’t ever forget how much I love the one. I would move heaven and earth for the one. I would die for the one.”

It froze me instantly and I just lost it. I felt His sweet presence fill my room. He stamped that powerful revelation so deep in my heart that I am forever changed.

Even now as I write this, he is touching my heart as he did that day months ago. You see, he has told me many times that “You’re going to be a woman of great influence.” That being said, He doesn’t ever want me to lose sight of a single person being just as important as the crowd.

Jesus died for the one and His love is so deep

Leaves the 99

Sometimes we think popularity equals success, especially in our day of social media. Not to God. The number of followers doesn’t matter. He would die for the one. One broken, lost and hurting soul moves His heart to great measures. God chases that single soul. He leaves the 99 to bring home the one.

If you had a hundred sheep and one of them strayed away and was lost in the wilderness, wouldn’t you leave the ninety-nine others to go and search for the lost one until you found it?” -Luke 15:4

Just as Jesus would leave the masses for that soul let us gladly give that same love to those he puts in our way.

Let’s pray:

“Lord, help us to stop in our busy day to reach out for those you place in our way. Help us to pay attention to our surroundings and reach out to those in need. Amen.”
