God calls us to bring the light where ever we go and that includes working in corporate America. I welcome Jared and Monica Burnett on the podcast episode, Marketplace Ministry to share their incredible story.
Without any retail experience, and busy raising a young family, God called them to open a huge store in the middle of the largest local mall, sitting between the Apple and Macys store. God draws in people by his spirit and selling goods is just a front. Literally.
I am blown away every time I visit their store, Mon Gifts where they have a living room setting in the back of the store with a prayer wall. They often host worship nights, prayer gatherings, classes and lay hands on the customers that come in broken and they are instantly healed.
Be the Light
Many Christians keep work and faith separate. But we are meant to change atmospheres just by being set apart and ready to step out in a divine appointment and watch God sized results.
I remember in my 20’s I was working for a bank and a co-worker in a different department brought me a bin of files to work on. As I was typing on my computer, God spoke to me, “Tell her I love her.”
I worked in an open cubicle with 4 others and told myself, I’m not doing that, I barely know her. But once again, I heard, “Tell her I love her.” So out of obedience, I turned to her and said, “Jesus loves you Vonnie.”
She immediately started weeping and said thank you. She went back to her office, called me at my desk and said, “Thank you. I needed to hear that.” Then she started pouring out her heart and all the difficulties she was facing. We became friends for many years after that. That encounter marked me.
There are so many lost that will not enter the four walls of the church. We must bring the gospel to them.
