There is a huge difference between being religious and having a love relationship with Jesus. Tune into this podcast and video episode, Religion vs. Relationship, as I share this message God put on my heart for the body of Christ.
I speak from experience friends as God delivered me from this bondage several years ago. In fact, I shared my story in 2018 in more detail on my post, Prison of Religion.
There is a reason that Jesus constantly rebuked and called out the Pharisees and Teachers of the law in the bible. There are so many examples but one is in Luke where he rebukes them for focusing on cleaning their outside appearance but inwardly they were unclean, full of greed and wickedness. They gave God a tenth of their treasures but neglected justice and the love of God. -Luke 1
A religious spirit creates a prideful, petty and miserable believer that doesn’t know Jesus as lover and friend.”
The religious spirit is ugly but humility is so attractive. While religion consists of the activities we do to make ourselves right with God and others, having a personal relationship with Christ means we know we can never do anything to truly make ourselves right before Him. We are able to have grace for others and love well because we of the love and friendship we have with him.
