The Greatest Sacrifice

December 23, 2021 · Leave a Comment

During this Christmas week, as I watch the hustle and bustle and enter the crowded shops during this season, I am reminded of the greatest gift of all. Jesus. He is the gift that never wears out, that never gets old, He is in fact the gift that keeps on giving.

Even before His birth, the meaning of giving it all was demonstrated. God could have easily created Jesus with just one word. Instead, He appointed a teenager to get pregnant, to leave her hometown and family, and to be rejected by many.

While pregnant, she left for a long journey on a donkey and delivered Jesus in a barn full of hay and animals. Even in knowing that His son would live to die, rejected all the way to the end. God showed us first with His own son that He requires sacrifice.

In fact, throughout Scripture we read that anytime God wanted to work in life-changing ways for His people, He always required a sacrifice first. There had to be something present that demonstrated sincerity and commitment. Jesus always refines, purges and makes us into a pure vessel before he uses us greatly for his glory and our purpose.

The Cost

It requires surrender. It requires self-denial. I know this sounds ugly but believe me it’s not. We must become co-dependent on the creator. The quick prayer of salvation isn’t evidence of a follower; it’s saying that you believe in Jesus and secure your salvation.

Ok now, what? The sign of a Jesus follower is a life that is stretched, uncomfortable and sensitive to His voice. Living a life of radical obedience is that proof.

No one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God.” -Luke 9:62

Always-a-cost-1

Following Jesus will always cost you your time, your plans, your friends, family and your finances. As someone who has always been independent, I can testify, that the peace, favor, and protection that follows is the great reward.

Jesus always refines, purges and makes us into a pure vessel before he uses us greatly for his glory and our purpose.”

Let’s Pray (warning: life changing)

“Lord, Thank you for your great sacrifice. I know the cost is not easy but I want to surrender as you did with your son Jesus. You deserve it all and I want my life to have purpose and meaning through you. Forgive me for living a selfish life. I surrender my life to you to do whatever you want to do in me. Amen.”

If the devil can’t get rid of you in your mother If the devil can’t get rid of you in your mother’s womb then he will attack your mind, your life to try and defeat you. ⚠️
You must be on guard, know his tactics and defeat him with the authority God has given you as a believer. Believe truth over lies friends.
God doesn’t make mistakes.
You are chosen.
Your life has great purpose.
You are loved.
💙
“The devil was a murderer from the beginning, and does not uphold the truth, because there is no truth in him.

Whenever he lies, he speaks according to his own nature, because he is a liar and the father of lies.”

When the devil tries to attack us with doubt & dis When the devil tries to attack us with doubt & discouragement, we must use our God given authority to silence the father of lies.
SPEAK BACK. 🗣
His #1 goal is to get you to give up on your purpose, your promises, your dreams, your relationships and ultimately your life.
He’ll make you think you have mental illness, anxiety, depression & confusion. He’ll even have you blame others but in reality he is the peace robber. He is the root cause of the attacks on your mind.
He knows that if he can control your thoughts, then he can control your life.
He’s never original. All he can do is counterfeit. He’s been up to his same ol’ tricks since day one in the garden. 🐍
But there’s hope, friends. The more you captivate your thoughts, stop entertaining yourself with the things of this world, saturate yourself in God’s word, allow him access to your heart, let him heal you of your past and believe the truth of who he says you are, the more you’ll live FREE.
The enemy will constantly try to sneak in and lie when he knows we’re vulnerable. But when he realizes that we cannot be moved, then he loses his power over us and backs off. 🔥 Remember, you are not defeated. You are more than a conqueror in Christ. 💙
“I have given you the authority to resist the devil and he will flee from you. Do not fear. Be strong & Courageous.” -James 4:7, Joshua 1:9
Side note: not everything is the devils fault. But if you are living surrendered to God then attacks on your mind to try and cancel your purpose, need to be silenced.

It’s easy to tell someone you love them but acti It’s easy to tell someone you love them but actions speaking louder than words, is when you’re selfless. Saying yes when you want to say no and with a good attitude is the best proof.
Jesus is the best example of this. He proved his true love for us when he sacrificed on the cross and he did it willingly.
Be a person who sacrifices for others. Live selfless in a selfish world. Be there when it counts by acting like Jesus.💙
