When the Holy Spirit empowers us, he gives us invaluable gifts and one of them is speaking in tongues. It’s a heavenly language that has many benefits. Tune in to this week’s podcast episode with special guest, Michael Pham as we share wisdom, understanding and practical ways to access this gift.

Spiritual Benefits

One of my favorite benefits to speaking in tongues is it’s a direct line talking to God, it gives us access to the throne room. In addition, it strengthens our inner man. It also provides knowledge, counsel and secrets that are withheld from the enemy, who cannot interpret what we are saying.

Also, when we pray in our heavenly language it’s the Holy Spirit interceding on our behalf. We are prophesying our God-ordained future and his perfect plan for our lives. It literally, shifts things in the natural.

Tongues of Fire

One of the most well-known passages in scripture on speaking in tongues is Acts 2.

“When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.

Now there were staying in Jerusalem God-fearing Jews from every nation under heaven. When they heard this sound, a crowd came together in confusion, because each one heard their own language being spoken. Utterly amazed, they asked: “Aren’t all these who are speaking Galileans? Then how is it that each of us hears them in our native language? We hear them declaring the wonders of God in our own tongues!”
