Have you ever had an experience that was so surreal and filled you with awe I was reminded of such a miracle last week. I ran into a lady named Kim after several years, at a mutual friend’s sons 1st birthday party. As we all sat down to eat she says, “Let me tell you how I know Leah. She saved my life.”
She goes on to share the miraculous God story of when I was just 13. I was her sister’s best friend and Kim didn’t really know me. She, however, got really sick and needed someone to stay with her at the hospital one night. When her sister asked me if I would, I told her that I hate hospitals and don’t even know her sister. The whole idea made me very uncomfortable.
But because she was my friend, I said yes. As I was sleeping on the cot, I woke up randomly in the middle of the night to see Kim gasping for air. Not knowing anything medical, I ran to her bed, and somehow knew to reconnect her breathing tube.
I then ran to get help from the nurses while shouting, “She can’t breathe!!” As they ran frantically to her room, they saw I connected her oxygen.
The nurse tells me, “If you would have run to get help right away, which most people would have done, she would have died. She was on her last breath when you reconnected her breathing tube!”
Many, Lord my God, are the wonders you have done, the things you planned for us. None can compare with you; were I to speak and tell of your deeds, they would be too many to declare.” Psalm 40:5
Without a doubt, angels guided my every move that night.
We never became friends after the incident. In fact, we didn’t reconnect until later in life. Then, 15 yrs ago a middle-aged man came up to me at an event with tears in His eyes and tells me, “Thank you. If it wasn’t for you I wouldn’t have my wonderful wife and children.” I was confused until he tells me, I’m Kim’s husband. They happened to be at the same event as me.
I am forever a believer that God is alive and still performs impossible miracles. He did it then and He does them still. Thank you, Jesus, You are the gift that never stops giving. We will continue to bring you glory for you are the God of unexplained wonders.
