Since the beginning of my journey, people have tried to make sense of it all. They want the why to be logical. Even after sharing in detail what God has told me to do, with multiple confirmations, they still don’t get it. And the longer God takes, the more others walk away or stop believing.
It started out frustrating that the same people that believe in the crazy bible stories of yesterday have trouble believing that same God moves today. But you must believe, He is the same powerful God yesterday, today and forever.
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”-Isaiah 55:8-9
Facts not Feelings
I had another reminder of this on my recent trip to California. Loved ones, who mean well, were begging me to move back. Trying to convince me and tell me, “Oh you live there for this or that or you live there because you like it.”
When my church’s main campus moved to the Bay Area, church folks approached me saying, “Oh you’ll move back cause your church moved there or you’ll move back because your family is there.”
The truth is that I don’t make a move unless God tells me too. My decisions are not based on my feelings.
We need to stop living with God in a logical box. Just because it doesn’t make sense to us or it’s unfamiliar doesn’t mean that it’s not fact. We as humans cannot comprehend His ways or His timing and we are not meant to. He is a mystery and He requires faith and trust.
God wants to use us to display His wonders and to prove through our lives that He is who He says He is. Even though the wait is difficult and I myself ask God why and want to give up at times, I must stay focused on His unfailing character and His perfect peace.
Are you willing to go to the next level and live with foolish faith?
I just discovered this amazing song that is my life anthem by Micheal Ketterer, top contestant of America’s Got Talent and father of 6 foster children.
Let’s pray
“Lord, forgive me for my disbelief. Give me greater faith to believe in what looks foolish, the impossible. Use my life to display your wonders. Help me to care more of what you think that what others do so I can obey all you ask of me without holding back. Amen.”
Christopher says
Amen.
