WE ARE ONE

We as believers tend to think of ourselves separate from God. We are here and He is there somewhere in the heavens. As we pray and hope to feel His presence or have Him come near to us. But as I was reading the awesome conversion story of Saul to Paul, the Holy Spirit gave me such a revelation.

Saul was persecuting the disciples and anyone who believed in the truth. One day while on His way to do more damage, the Lord stopped Him in His tracks. “Saul, Saul why do you persecute me?” Then tells Him again,” I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting.”

Now Jesus didn’t say, Why are you persecuting my people? or Why are you against the truth? He instead tells Saul that he was actually persecuting Jesus Himself by coming after His disciples. What revelation, that we are one with Christ.

And in Him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by His Spirit.” -Ephesians 2:22

You see, Jesus views us as Him. We as disciples are not only His hands and feet but we embody Christ Himself. Furthermore, we are a habitation of His presence, not just a visitation. He is always in us wanting to reveal Himself through us.

That is why He is after our heart and complete surrender. He is seeking willing vessels that will no longer live for ourselves but for Him alone. The more we die to self the more we become who Jesus is. We are meant to be a reflection of Him to those we encounter.

“Lord, help me to reflect you in our world in need of hope. I lay down selfish pride and ask you to inhabit me. I want to reflect all you are to others. Amen.”
