Life can bring anxiousness, right There are unexpected situations that trigger us, along with people that are difficult. We can get overwhelmed by it all if we don’t stay focused on our rock. One of my favorite verses and reminders is Philippians 4:6.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”
Jesus doesn’t tell us that it’s ok to be anxious about some things, you know those big things that are out of our control. I mean everyone freaks out sometimes right It’s normal. Instead He tells us not to be anxious about Anything. That’s right. Anything.
Trusting Jesus completely and knowing He has our back at all times brings peace which is the opposite of being anxious, stressed or worried.
Nothing is out of His control and nothing surprises Him. He created every detail of us and every day has been mapped out before we even entered this world. Surrender every fear, hurt and uncertainty into His perfect hand for He cares like no one does.
Jesus goes on to say that instead of being anxious, come to Him in prayer and give Him your requests. Present all your concerns to Him.
My favorite part is the call to Thanksgiving. Instead of complaining, start speaking out loud. Let thanksgiving flow from your mouth. Don’t thank Him when He answers your prayer, instead thank Him for who His, that unchanging character. Speaking words of thankfulness will silence any anxiousness.
Let’s Pray:
“Lord, I repent for being anxious. For trying to solve what only you can. For not trusting you completely. I give my all to you. I thank you for your faithfulness. Thank you for your mercy, your kindness, your provision, your protection… ”
Then pray and petition your requests to Him. Let it go and allow Him to give you peace that passes all understanding.
