Well I’m feeling better after a week of the cold. But then went out in the cold today to shoot my first pro business video ha go figure. So that has been me this week. Hope you are staying warm and well.
Growing up without social media gave me a feeling of freedom and innocence that we lack today. There wasn’t a screen in my face promoting comparison or me trying to avoid those constant flashes of worldliness and lure.
Social media and the progression of our culture can be a great tool. As an owner of two small businesses and a ministry, it can help me grow and promote. But we must be careful that we take it in small doses.
The other night I went on this random IG feed and got caught up watching a random video that led me to so many random people. This ultimately made me feel polluted. What a waste of too much of my time, am I right.
Don’t you see the enemy doesn’t have to defeat you, all he has to do is distract you.”
I love how the message version puts Romans 12:2
Take your everyday, ordinary life your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for Him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.”
We must renew our minds by taking in more of Jesus than we do the world. Living differently then what our culture embraces might not make you popular but it will make you great.
